Game of Moans: Graphic design competition shows what Wayne Swan would look like with a mullet
IF KEVIN Rudd challenges for the crown of Aussie politics, will he grow a beard? Should Swannie rock a mullet? We've got answers.
KEVIN Rudd is tipped to make another challenge for the crown of Australian politics.
Which begs the question: Would he be better off growing a beard first? Would Julia Gillard see off a spill more forcefully if she spoke Dothraki?
What follows was inevitable: Reimagining the key personalities from the federal leadership saga into characters from hit HBO fantasy TV series Game of Thrones.
We know what you're thinking. "Ohhhhhhhh, so that's what Wayne Swan would look like with a mullet."
And fair enough.
A contest hosted by graphic design website Freelancer.com has transformed the likes of Ms Gillard, Mr Rudd and Mr Swan into all of our beloved GoT characters. Now the world knows what our elected representatives would look like with unfortunate haircuts.
With all due respect to Swanny, we understand he was much more fashionable than this even while he was studying at Nambour High in the 1970s.
One of the highest-rated mashups on the website replaced fan favourite Tyrion Lannister's head with Bob Carr. As it turns out, the Foreign Affairs Minister and occasional blogger makes a jovial shaggy-haired dwarf.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard has confessed to being a fan of the gory series, in the past tweeting various Australian media identities with her commentary on various plot twists.
In an interview last month, the PM compared herself to lead character Dragon Queen Daenerys Targaryen. Freelancer's Photoshop whizzes have obeyed her command - depicting her with the Treasurer as her fire-breathing pet.
Mr Swan was a particular favourite of graphic designers, pictured here perched on Ms Gillard's shoulder.
Designers were not necessarily so kind to Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, who found himself decked out as Sansa, the delicate flowerchild whose immediate family is constantly being impaled and beheaded.
Sansa and Cersei... We doubt either Ms Gillard or Mr Abbott will be pleased with these depictions.
And former PM Kevin Rudd grew extensive bushy facial fur to star as King Robert - the head of government whose court is plotting to topple him in his first season in the job. The irony.
Julia Gillard has said she sits down to watch the hit show each Monday night. Read six lessons the PM has learned from Game of Thrones
The third season wrapped up earlier this month and it's anticipated the fourth season will debut in March/April 2014.
