Woman saves unwanted, sick shelter animals from being put down

A WOMAN dubbed the “Angel of Death Row” is saving unwanted, dying animals from shelters and giving them a second chance at a loving home.

FOR every rescue animal that gets adopted, there is an untold amount that sadly, doesn’t get a second chance.

Whether it be due to age, or illness, the reality is many animals get euthanised before their time.

One woman has vowed to give these unwanted creatures the loving second chance, they otherwise wouldn’t get.

Tina Marie Lythgoe, also known as the “Angel of Death Row,” runs a non-profit organisation called Josh and his Critters in Sun Valley, California. Her aim is to provide these animals with love and care — and if they’re nurtured back to health, hopefully see them adopted.

In a heartwarming video, she recently told Fox 11: “I go for the ones that no one’s going to get. That’s the ones I go for because I know they are going to be euthanised.”

The woman with a heart of gold has been rescuing animals from the tender age of 14, and it's clear that the process is still an emotional one.

She said, “The hardest part is choosing who gets to come home.”

“If I have enough money at the time I’ll get two. If I have even more money I’ll pull three. I cry leaving the shelter all the time,” she added close to tears.

Among her countless rescues are: “Josh” a West Highland Terrier, dumped because of his cleft palate, “Mr Jacks” a pup paralysed from the waist down (in a case that resembles that of Australian poodle Wilson), and “Fuzzy Lumpkin” a kitty with feline aids.

All creatures whose lives would have otherwise been cut short.
