Orangutan laughs hysterically after watching magic trick

ORANGUTANS are considered to be the most intelligent of the primates and possibly the funniest, after this ape was left in stitches over a magic trick.

NOW this is what you call monkey magic.

Video of an orangutan laughing his head off at the Barcelona Zoo after a visitor performs a simple magic trick is spreading joy around the world.

The ape is behind a glass exhibit and curiously watches a visitor place a chestnut into a foam cup.

The visitor returns the lid on the cup and shakes it before placing it back in the ape's view and removing the top.

When the hairy fella realises the chestnut has vanished he bursts into laughter and falls backwards with his legs up in the air.

The amateur magician and the bystander filming the comedic scene also join in the laughter.

The video was posted on YouTube on Monday and has generated more than 265,000 views in just two days.
