Two huge crocodiles caught and killed in search for missing fisherman
The giant crocodile is just one of two authorities have caught and killed after a man vanished in the blink of an eye while fishing.
Two huge crocodiles have been caught and killed in the search for a missing fisherman.
Kevin Darmody, 65, was fishing with friends at Kennedy Bend in the Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park in Queensland before he vanished into thin air on Saturday afternoon.
It’s feared the fisherman was taken by a crocodile after his friend reported hearing splashing sounds moments before he went missing.
A Department of Environment and Science (DES) spokesman said wildlife officers found and euthanised two crocodiles they believed to be involved in the incident.
The crocs were found upstream from where Mr Darmody was last seen at Kennedy Bend.
The massive reptiles measured in at 4.1m and 2.8m respectively.
The animals will be cut open on Tuesday afternoon in search of any clues that can explain what happened to the missing man.
A report will then be prepared for the Coroner.
The crocodiles are able to removed from the wild as part of the QLD Crocodile Management Plan.
