WOMBAT pee? No worries.
Tanya Plibersek has brushed off a sticky situation in federal parliament today after a wombat urinated all over her hands.
The Deputy Labor leader and other federal MPs were marking Threatened Species Day at Parliament House by meeting endangered Australian animals when one of the furry critters let loose.
The Member for Sydney was unphased by the unexpected soaking from George the wombat in front of a host of reporters and television cameras.
She said, as a mum of three, she’d had worse.
“That’s alright, I’ve had three children. I’ve been peed on before and from greater heights than this,” she said.
Enivornment and Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg had a close encounter with a snake, while the Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and Treasurer Scott Morrison took the chance for a cuddle with a koala.
