Rat snake makes surprise dinner guest for North Carolina couple

EGGS anyone? This could be the most hospitable couple ever, after they allowed an unexpected dinner guest to stay for a whole meal.

EGGS anyone? A couple got the shock of their lives recently when they walked in to find a massive snake munching down on some dinner in their kitchen.

The long and distinctive rat snake was hanging from a cabinet and devouring the fresh eggs on Laura Neff’s kitchen table in a town called Charlotte, North Carolina.

“It was a run of the mill Sunday afternoon here on our little farmette, until a noise in the kitchen made us look up ... at the spice cabinet,” Laura said on her YouTube page.

“THIS was descending toward a basket of fresh eggs on the counter.

“It got in through a hole in our laundry room floor, which is now covered by a very heavy concrete block and which will soon be permanently plugged,” she said.

In true country hospitality, Laura, along with her partner Richard, looked after their surprise dinner guest.

“Yes, we let it finish the egg,” Laura said.

But they were quick to kick it out once dinner was over.

“We finally convinced it that going out the open window was a MUCH better option than slithering away behind the fridge.”

“As soon as we could get its bulk under the brooms, we hefted it out the window,” she said.
