EVEN raccoons need saving sometimes and one critter that got its head stuck in a grill must be thankful US authorities happened by to help him out of a tight spot.

The Framingham Department of Public Works recently posted a photo of a raccoon rescue that took place in the town located in eastern Massachusetts, 197 miles from New York City.

Stormwater Supervisor Brooks McCarty told the MetroWest Daily News that the animal’s head was stuck in a storm drain and it had to be soaped up.

“We soaped his head up and pulled and pulled and twisted,” McCarty said. “All of a sudden he just popped out and she (Animal Control Officer Kathy MacKenzie) let him go and he stood there confused and then just ran up into a tree.”

All in a day’s work.
