NEW YORK City subway recently banned dogs from travelling, unless they fitted into a bag.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority states that — “No person may bring any animal on or into any conveyance or facility unless enclosed in a container and carried in a manner which would not annoy other passengers.”

The new rule could have posed a problem for owners with large dogs, but defiant New York City subway-goers decided to get creative.

“The New York City Subway banned dogs unless they fit in a bag and the people of New York did not disappoint,” one person posted on Twitter.

And they’re right.

Great way to re-use an Ikea bag.

This dog loves travelling on the subway.

People of New York, please keep these adorable photos coming.
