New York City’s largest cat, Samson, is 28 pounds of furry seriousness and is taking the internet by storm.

Samson the cat weighs a whoppin’ 12.7kg, and it’s this heavy title that has made him an Instagram star.

The four-year-old Maine Coon, which is the largest domesticated breed of cat, lives in Brooklyn with his owner, Jonathon Zurbel.

Samson was originally purchased by Zurbel’s brother and his then-girlfriend. But when that relationship ended, Samson started living with Zurbel and now the two of them are inseparable.

The 4-foot long feline has over 67,000 followers on Instagram and has recently become quite a celebrity.

“On Tuesday afternoon, in fact, Samson’s owner, Jonathan Zurbel, had to excuse himself during a phone call with TODAY because TMZ was on the other line,” Today stated.

Now Samson’s groomer, Carolyn Ayala, who previously only saw him every six months, travels with the celebrity kitten to all his television interviews and photoshoots. You know you’ve made it when you have a personal groomer maintaining your mane 24/7!

“He is the Fabio of cats,” Ayala told People.

And with over 67,000 followers on Instagram, it’s easy to believe Samson receives around 200 pieces of fan mail a day. There have also been requests for Samson’s sperm... but they have been declined.
