A mum has been left dumbfounded after discovering tiny bean-shaped objects in her bathroom.

The woman was cleaning when she came across the strange objects. She took to a Facebook cleaning group searching for answers after she couldn’t figure out what they were.

“Looks like what appears in a nappy when they’ve eaten too many sultanas,” one mum wrote.

Another thought they “look like someone’s skin tags had fallen off”.

Other people suggested that the objects could be toenail clippings, slugs or skinned sausages.

“They are much, much smaller than that,” the mum wrote in the comments.

The woman said her children have all moved out and it couldn’t be their mess.

“Google image search didn’t help. I am thinking the wind blew them in,” she said.

Some told the baffled mum that they were larvae and posted similar pictures from a Google search.

After seeing the comment and doing some research, the woman gave an update about the bug theory.

“I’ve since discovered (and killed) three large black ants wandering around the window area of my en-suite at different times,” she wrote.

“So I conclude, with members’ help) that they were ant pupae.”

According to Ant Ark, most species spin a silk cocoon around themselves, this is called the pupa. Inside the pupa a young ant will eclose.

The website states the pale yellow ants eventually emerge and quickly darken as their exoskeleton hardens.

The first batch of ants will be smaller and weaker than an established colonies ants as they have not been fed much.
