Man reported to RSPCA for animal cruelty after kicking dog on southern Gold Coast

WARNING: Distressing footage. A Gold Coast man has been blasted online and is being investigated by the RSPCA for the brutal way he treated his dog.

Man is captured on film beating into his dog at Palm Beach

A WOMAN has reported a man to the RSPCA after she witnessed and filmed him kicking and choking the excited dog at the Palm Beach Parklands.

Tara Lee Barry was enjoying an afternoon near the water when she saw the man and his partner with their dogs and pushed record on her phone.

The young mum posted the video on Facebook, which has quickly gone viral, spreading across news sites and community pages,

The original post has been viewed more than 150,000 times and shared more than 3700.

It reads, “Animal abuse, reported. Just saw this asshole pull up in his ute at Currumbin QLD and get out and closed fist punched his poor blue staffy in the head.”

“Then started kicking it and dragging it around by it’s lead yelling at the dog to ‘settle down’. “The poor dog was just super excited about being at the beach and clearly had no training, plus the guy had no control of the dog with just a collar to lead it. Really needs a gentle leader for better control as they are strong.

“I didn’t say anything as I had Dekoda my baby and the guy seemed pretty aggressive but geez my blood was boiling.

“I made it very clear to him when he noticed me I was filming him in disgust ... terrible filming sorry was tricky with the baby. THIS IS NOT OK! Share.”

Miss Barry said she had made a report to the RSPCA, with the video, the man’s description and car numberplate.

The RSPCA has confirmed they are investigating the incident.
