A man has died after being mauled by multiple dogs in the front yard of a Queensland home, with a street shut down and a crime scene declared.
A man has died after he was attacked by multiple dogs at a home in Greenbank, Queensland.
Emergency services were called to a home on Ison Road just after 10.45 on Saturday morning, where a man was found unconscious in the front yard of a property with critical injuries.
It was reported on Saturday evening that the victim had been identified as Kane Minion, from Marsden, who had spent seven years working for Downer’s Skilltech.
The 42-year-old man was working as a contractor for Energex at the time, NCA NewsWire has confirmed, and was reading meters in the area.
He died at the scene as a result of his injuries, despite the best efforts of paramedics.
Police found three dogs in the yard, but the homeowners were not at the premises at the time. A crime scene has been declared and the street has been closed as detectives and crime scene investigators examine the area.
Acting Inspector Gary Worrell told reporters at the scene the man was from Marsden, and shared condolences for his family.
“It’s also a difficult time for the owners of the residence, who are attached to their dogs,” he said.
Animal control officers from Logan City Council were called to the scene to retrieve the dogs, reportedly Bull Arabs.
Police said Work Safe Australia had been notified, as the man was conducting work in the Greenbank area at the time.
Greenbank is a rural suburb about 40km south of Brisbane with a population of less than 10,000.
Ison Road contains multiple residential properties on large parcels of land.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
