An American man and his wife spotted a large black snake by the side of the road and decided to film it.

But the pair were astonished when another snake appeared from inside the black serpent, which then regurgitated the lucky beast before slithering off.

The people who filmed the great escape believe they saved the fortunate snake’s life because the larger reptile decided to spit out its meal after being disturbed.

“I was the reason the snake did this, due to feeling threatened,” the man said.

He added: “This is that other snake’s super lucky lottery winning day. I can’t believe that little dude is still alive.

“He’s still licking his lips, swallowing, trying to work out what happened.

“He was just in stomach acid and all kind of stuff.”

Last week, scientists discovered that certain snakes like to hunt in packs and “co-ordinate their positions”.
