Girl and mother terrified by dog attack in Sydney’s south

A seven-year-old girl says she is struggling to sleep after she was attacked by a dog in a Sydney street.

A surveillance camera has captured the moment a seven-year-old girl was attacked by a dog on a southern Sydney street.

Nadia Taoube was walking home with her daughter on Sunday when a dog raced up to them, pushing the seven-year-old to the ground.

CCTV captured the terrifying scene as the girl tries to run away from the dog and is repeatedly jumped on.

As the girl tries to get to her feet, the dog is briefly distracted by her mother waving a jacket around.

However, the dog is set on the girl and continues to jump around her, seemingly trying to play.

“I’m going to die,” the little girl screamed.

Brothers Mohamed and Billy Zahr run out to help after hearing the girl’s screams.

“It was just going at her … she was screaming and crying,” Billy Zahr told 7 News.

“As soon as I started running I could hear the screaming … she looked so terrified,” Mohamed Zahr said.

The little girl suffered minor scratches but has reportedly had trouble sleeping since the attack.

Ms Taoube told 7 News she wanted to know why the dog was off its leash in the street.
