THIS is the dramatic moment two of the world’s deadliest creatures — a redback spider and a brown snake — met in an epic fight to the death.

The two deadly animals came together in the not-so-glamorous location of underneath farmer Neale Postlethwaite’s car at his property north of Melbourne.

He witnessed the redback pulling the eastern brown off the floor and capturing it in its web.

“I can’t believe it was actually able to stop it and then hurl it up backwards into its nest,” he told the Daily Mail Australia.

“It’s just mind-boggling.

“I thought the snake was dead and went to put my finger there and the snake was still alive at the time,” Mr Postlethwaite said.

He discovered the battle on Saturday, but when he returned 24 hours later, the snake had been killed and was being eaten by ants.

“My wife doesn’t want to drive her car until she can get an underbody car wash,” he joked.
