Couple discovers 2m beehive behind bathroom shower tiles

A couple have made a skin-crawling discovery behind their bathroom wall that’s straight out of the 1992 horror film Candyman.

Gigantic beehive discovered behind bathroom wall

A Florida bee removal expert sent entomophobes’ skin crawling after she discovered a bee-hemoth 2m-tall hive behind a client’s bathroom.

Footage of the freaky find currently boasts 3.3 million views on TikTok, the New York Post reports.

“I got a surprise when I started breaking away behind the shower wall,” self-proclaimed “lover of bees” Elisha Bixler said in the clip, which was recently posted by ViralHog.

Ms Bixler, who runs the beekeeping service How’s Your Day Honey, was called out after a couple had heard buzzing coming from the wall.

They had also seen a few bees “escaping the wall whenever they would use the bathroom,” Ms Bixler said in the video.

But none of them were ready for what actually was hidden behind the wall.

The accompanying footage shows the massive, “seven foot long” (2.1m) hive which is swarming with hundreds of the stinging insects in a scene reminiscent of the 1992 horror film Candyman.

“Look at all that honey,” Ms Bixler said as she poked the “incredible” nest with her finger.

The clip concluded as she used a metal clamp to transport the queen so her workers would follow, in preparation to relocate them to a new home.

“I’m going to take them home to one of my apiaries,” she told her nearly 800,000 followers.

Commenters were impressed at how calm she remained while handling the entomological metropolis.

“Bro, my first reaction was that’s horrifying but you were so calm about it and I kinda realised hey that’s actually pretty cool,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Oh that scared me at first and then I thought this young person knows what they’re doing and will save the bees.”

“Is that a boo ‘bee’ trap?” joked another.
