Circus owner charged as ‘pandas’ unmasked a puppies
KIDS were invited to line and take photos with this panda but police have spotted something very, very wrong.
A CIRCUS owner is under investigation for using false documents and mistreating animals after police busted him parading dogs as pandas.
Two white furred puppies were found painted as pandas when Italian forestry police raided a circus.
The male and female chow chow dogs “were made to dress up as pandas and exhibited to the public, especially children, to take pictures for a fee”, the Italian Forestry Police said in a statement.
The puppies’ owner was found to be carrying false passports for the two animals, which authorities noticed due to massive differences in their ages.
Investigations are continuing into the animals’ wellbeing, but initial reports indicated they appeared to be in good health.
It was noted the puppies had “watery eyes”.
“Probably aggravated by the constant light flashes to which they were exposed,” the police statement read.
The owner was charged with use of false documents and investigations over the treatment of the animals are continuing.
The puppies were seized and prohibited from any further performances.
