Brilliant underdog photos show canine companions from below a glass table

JUST when we thought we’d seen every side of our canine companions, a photographer has unleashed a series of pictures that are terrier-rific.

JUST when we thought we’d seen every side of our canine companions, a photographer has captured a series of pictures that really raise the ruff.

In an unusual series titled “Under-dogs”, Lithuanian photographer Andrius Burba, 25, positioned obedient woofers on glass tables and snapped them from underneath.

But unleashing his creativity during the photo shoot proved challenging at times when some of the models got camera-shy.

“While some dogs were playful on the ground they have completely changed on the glass and stood still like a rock,” he told Bored Panda.

“Others weren’t afraid of standing above which was easy and fun to work with.”

From big borks to cute pupperinos, the subjects range from a Thai Ridgeback to a White Shepherd, including breeds like Saluki, Basenji and Pomeranian. Mr Burba spent more than two years bringing the collection together.

Some of dogs are photographed in odd angles as they move around the table while others peer beneath the glass quizzically.

A specially manufactured glass table enabled Mr Burba to photograph larger dogs and get a unique perspective.

“I learned two main things from these photo shoots,” he said.

“First, cats think they are gods since people feed, love and give them homes. Secondly, dogs see humans as a god as they feed, love and give them homes.”

The Under-dogs series also coincides with the release of a book that was published on Mr Burba’s project.
