THERE’S a very good reason why Bodhi the dog dresses in designer clothes everywhere he goes — it’s because he earns more money than most of us.
THERE’S a very good reason why Bodhi the dog dresses in designer clothes everywhere he goes — it’s because he earns more money than most of us.
The very good-looking canine’s impressive portfolio of modelling pictures is making waves on social media with more than 150,000 followers on Instagram alone.
Bodhi’s owners, Yena Kim and David Fung told Fast Company: “When we first dressed him up for fun, he started posing for us, and doing like Blue Steel and Magnum.” (From the movie Zoolander).
“We originally posted his photo to Facebook as a gag,” Fund said.
When the New York dog went viral, agent Ben Lashes, who represents internet micro-celebrities like Grumpy Cat and Scumbag Steve, approached.
“He reached out to us early on, but he wanted to take 20%,” says Kim. “It meant he would take care of the creative aspects, which we weren’t ready to give up.”
Yena and David went out on their own and it’s paid off; they’ve both quit their fulltime jobs.
Between his TV appearances, photo shoots and sponsored posts on social media Menswear Dog can earn his owners up to $15,000 a month.
“When I left my job, everyone in my immediate office knew, but I just told HR I was starting a company,” Kim said. “I didn’t want to be like, ‘I’m leaving you guys to dress up my dog’.”
It worked.
