RICHARD Wesley is lucky to be alive, after he was charged and attacked by a bear while out hunting with a bow and arrow in Canada.
Video filmed on a GoPro camera shows the hunter freezing when he notices the giant animal meandering along in the distance near Fire River, Ontario.
However, as soon as the bear notices him, it wanders over for a closer look — and Wesley loads an arrow as it gets way too close for comfort.
He shouts to try and scare it away, but it backfires in a big way.
The bear charges, leaping over some logs and knocking Wesley to the ground.
The hunter uses his bow to punch the animal in the face, dropping the camera into a puddle where it continues to record the sounds of their struggle.
Luckily, both hunter and animal made it out of the fight alive.
“F*** me. I should’ve shot him a long time ago. Scared me, that guy,” Wesley says, visibly shaken as he collects his belongings.
On YouTube, he wrote in the caption he escaped with no wounds except a “bruised elbow and ego” where the bear threw him down.
“Genuinely happy this was a non-fatal or tragic outcome,” he wrote.
