Arachnophobes, look away now! Huge Huntsman spider snapped lurking behind door frame
IF you are an arachnophobe, you should probably look away now. An Aussie has captured an image of an absolutely enormous huntsman.
A HUGE huntsman spider has been snapped lurking behind the door of an Australian home.
The spider appears to have flattened itself against the panel in a bid to avoid detection — however, this seems to make it look even larger as it’s squished against the glass.
Users of social media site Reddit, where the spine-tingling snap first appeared, have described the spider as a “terrifying door stopper”.
The bite of a huntsman spider is non-toxic to humans — but their sheer size can frighten the life out of most folk.
The post had been viewed more than 9,000 times after just 12 hours.
Comments from users soon came flooding in — with many expressing their shock at the size of the arachnid.
“Please tell me that’s a fake spider someone made out of pipe cleaners as a prank,” wrote one user.
Another user asked: “Is it a huntsman? Maybe it’s just the angle or camera or something, but it looks like it has really thick legs for a huntsman.”
“It didn’t skip leg day,” someone responded.
However, some people felt more positively toward the creature.
“He’s your furry friend who’s fun to be with. He eats other spiders,” one said.
Some viewers were suspicious of the actual size of the spider, asking the poster to use an object for scale in future snaps.
A spider expert from the Australian Reptile Park has confirmed that the spider is indeed a huntsman.
