AS the world reels after the killing of Cecil the lion, a glammed up American hunter is rubbing salt in the wound.

Sabrina Corgatelli has sparked outrage after posting pictures of herself with the dead bodies of a giraffe, warthog, kudu and impala during a recent trip to South Africa.

In June, the university accountant from the US state of Idaho, began “counting down the days” to a two-week “trip of a lifetime” to Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Before her trip, she posted a meme of Leonardo DiCaprio with the message: “To all the haters. Stay tuned, you’re gonna have so much more to be p****d off about.”

In late July, Corgatelli began to post pictures of her kills — including of a giant giraffe.

“Day #2 I got a amazing old Giraffe. Such a amazing animal!! I couldn’t be any happier!! My emotion after getting him was a feeling I will never forget!!!,” she wrote alongside photos of a downed giraffe.

Other pictures show Corgatelli, who wears heavy makeup and skin-tight hunting gear, celebrating the kills with her hands clasped in front of her mouth, like she is praying.

Corgatelli, who runs a clothing company called Racks and Ridges, also shared a photograph of her boyfriend “Aaron” with the body of a crocodile.

The pictures have sparked a firestorm of fury from animal lovers who posted hundreds of angry messages on her profile.

“You are a deranged young woman. Is this the legacy you’ll leave? Shame on your cold, cruel heart,” one commenter wrote.

“You’ve posted dozens of pictures just in the past 48 hours, why? Because you want to say “eff you” to the world! Well you just go ahead. If that’s how you are able to feel good about yourself, then nothing anyone can say will stop you. But remember — in the end, you’ll have to live with who you really are ... and that someone is callous, cold, ugly, utterly pathetic, and completely broken. I pity you,” another wrote.

However, Corgatelli remains defiant, saying she considers herself an animal lover.

“To me it’s not just killing an animal, it’s the hunt,’’ she told the Today show in the US on Monday.

“There’s a lot of personal things in my life that have happened recently that have added to that. I won’t get into that or disclose those feelings. Everybody just thinks we’re cold-hearted killers, and it’s not that.

“There is a connection with the animal, and just because we hunt them doesn’t mean we don’t have a respect for them. Giraffes are very dangerous animals. They could hurt you seriously very quickly.”

She also said all of her kills have been legal.

“Everything I’ve done here is legal, so how can you fault somebody because of their hobbies?” Corgatelli said.

The world’s attention has focused on big-game hunting after American dentist Walter Palmer was accused of illegally killing beloved lion Cecil in Zimbabwe.

The country has restricted hunting following the death of Cecil, who wore a GPS collar as part of an Oxford University study.

Authorities have also called for the dentist’s extradition from Minnesota to face charges of financing an illegal hunt.

Yesterday a second American doctor, Jan Seski, was accused of illegally killing a lion with a bow and arrow in Zimbabwe.
