AS HALLOWEEN rolls around yet again, Aussie fans of the pagan tradition are getting excited about all things ghosts, ghouls, tricks and treats.

Australians, who once shunned the American holiday, are getting increasingly wrapped up in the 31 October event.

From carving Jack O’Lanterns and going trick or treating to investing time and money in costumes and decorating the house in cotton wool cobwebs, Halloween Down Under is booming.

Now our beloved pets are getting in on the spooky action, with owners dressing their furry friends in costumes so good they’ll give even the best-dressed partygoer a run for their money.

Among some of the most creative ideas for pet costumes include a ghost dog, a spider horse, and even a guinea pig Freddy Krueger. But perhaps one of the funniest costumes of the year is the furry Donald Trump (complete with toupee and tie). Another hilarious creation features two pugs dressed as sushi. Check them all out and more in the gallery above.

And, a quick word of advice for all you trick or treaters out there: Don’t share your chocolate haul with your canine pal — no matter how cute he looks!
