An Asian market stall worker has been filmed berating an Indian customer, telling him to “go and stink your curry” in a heated argument over a discount.
The racially charged stoush was captured on video at Parklea Markets in western Sydney’s Glenwood before being posted to TikTok on Thursday.
The video begins mid-argument, with the worker telling the Indian man, who is with his wife and children, “Shut the f**k up before I smash your head in, OK?”
The Indian father replies, “I think you just … I was checking the size, OK? I didn’t follow you. You f**k off! Idiot.”
The stall worker continues to berate the customer. “Go and f**k your, stink your curry, f***ing arse, get the f**k out of here,” he says.
“You are a f***ing tight-arse, OK, you will go to a f***ing clothing store …”
The person filming the video laughs, saying “f**k you, bloody”, referencing a popular viral video of two Indian motorists fighting.
The Indian man’s wife gets involved, yelling, “Get less! Get less! Idiot.”
The husband tells the stall worker, “Go home!”
“How you doing, buddy?” the person filming the video asks the Indian man as he walks past.
“Don’t do that,” he replies.
One commenter on the video claimed the argument started after the customer asked for a discount.
“I was there! The Indian dude asked for a 50 per cent discount on a cell phone case, and the clerk, hearing 15 per cent, said OK, after which the war of words began,” they wrote.
Someone else said, “It is not OK to be asking for 50 per cent discount to a business? The Indian couple is in the wrong. Nothing is free in this world.”
Another commenter added, “Thank god the Indian couple didn’t ask for free, if he does there would be physical fight.”
