A car travelling at a significant speed in a parking lot struck the 21-year-old’s vehicle, causing him to collide into a truck in an opposite lane.

Speaking to BuzzFeed News, his sister, Alexandra, revealed that their family are still in “complete shock, denial, sadness, anger, frustration and deep, deep pain”. But they’re not the only ones suffering.

Abraham’s loyal canine companion, Jax, a German Shepherd who was welcomed into the family at only six weeks old, misses his best friend too.

“Jacks would sleep on top of my brother’s head every night until he got too big and took up the entire bed instead,” Alexandra said.

What once was a pleased, peppy pup, is now a lost cause who sulks around the family home.

“He walks around the house as if he’s looking for something and when he gives up he just sighs and sleeps.”

Abraham’s other sister, Cassandra, captured this heartbreaking photo of Jax lying silently in front of his best friend’s memorial, as if waiting for Abraham to come home.
