Tasmania Police speak to media after man charged in relation to Shyanne-Lee's disappearance

The family of a young Tasmanian girl who was allegedly murdered has responded after being trolled online.

After a three-month search for 14-year-old Shyanne-Lee Tatnell, police confirmed unidentified remains had been found 52kms away from where she was last spotted in Tasmania’s Launceston.

“It is with a heavy heart that I can confirm that remains were located late this afternoon during our extensive search,” Northern District Commander Kate Chambers said.

“While these have not yet been forensically confirmed, they are believed to be human remains.”

36-year-old farmer Christopher Jordan was arrested and charged with her murder shortly after the remains were found.

In the wake of the heartbreaking news, online trolls attacked Shyanne-Lee’s mother, and her grandmother has responded to the vicious online taunts.

A person wrote that what happened to the young girl was an “absolute tragedy” but then proceeded to troll the family.

The troll falsely said that Tatnell was in the care of the state and also falsely claimed: “poor kid never had a chance in life.”

Tracy Ketchell, the grandmother of Tatnell, reposted the troll’s baseless post and added. “Anyone know this low life?”

Ketchell defended Tatnell’s mother and claimed she was the most “loving woman alive.”

“Not only is she coming to terms with everything that’s happened, she has someone like you who knows absolutely nothing.

“Shyanne wasn’t in state care. Go back and read the statements made and pull your f***ing head in,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Shyanne-Lee’s mother Bobbi-Lee Ketchell, has posted a heartfelt statement about her daughter on Facebook.

“On behalf of Shyanne and her family, I know she would want to thank you all, Rochelle, the police, cib, SES, volunteers and all those involved in Shyanne’s case, for bringing her home to us,” she wrote.

The grieving mum wrote that she hurt not just for herself and her family but for all “friends, teachers, Malana house and all the people that Shyanne has touched their life in more ways than one.”

She added that the only people she wouldn’t be thanking were those who made trolling “comments” about her family online

Her latest post comes after she unleashed a furious rant on social media trolls just a day before remains had been found.

In a Facebook post, she blasted people for being “so cruel and quick” to judge.

“You aren’t caring enough! You’re giving up! You can’t afford things like a billboard or posters for my daughter who is missing. You know what stuff you all judgmental beings!” She wrote.

Before asking the haters to “live one day in my shoes,” and then “judge” her.

“Shut your mouth, you have something to say about me and my situation say to my face!”
