Tattoo-clad Instagram model pleads guilty to ‘serious’ drug trafficking

A tattooed Instagram-famous model with a prolific social media following has fronted court on a raft of drug charges, including trafficking.

How do tattoos work?

A tattoo-covered Brisbane beauty who calls herself the “Blue Eyes White Dragon” on social media will remain on bail over the Christmas break until her sentencing next year.

Capalaba model Amber Breeana Luke was due to learn her fate for a raft of drug charges at Brisbane District Court on Wednesday.

But her defence lawyer argued the sentencing should be delayed to allow more to be tendered to the court.

Ms Luke, 25, has amassed more than 50,000 Instagram followers showcasing her prolific body art of more than 250 tattoos, which include her blue-inked eyeballs.

Sporting a pink top and black pants, she entered pleas of guilty to seven drug-related charges, including trafficking, supplying and possessing dangerous drugs and receiving property obtained from drug trafficking or supplying.

The prolific social media model was supported by her mother in court but hung her head when the Crown asked for her to be remanded in custody.

The court was told she was likely to receive a custodial sentence for a “very significant and serious” trafficking offence as well as the other indictable offences.

But Judge Paul Smith continued her bail until next year.

He said Ms Luke had previously answered her bail conditions and noted the mental health material would be “highly relevant” to the sentencing.

“It would be a lot easier to give instructions to the psychiatrist,” Judge Smith said.

The court was told Ms Luke was facing a serious drug trafficking charge that would likely warrant a jail term.

Ms Luke’s defence lawyer said his client had a long history of mental health difficulties and had been hospitalised multiple times for conditions such as schizophrenia.

He said the report “did not properly” address all the matters relevant for the court’s consideration in its current form.

Ms Luke will return to court on February 17 next year.

As part of her bail conditions, she must reside with her mother, report to police and not take any drugs.

Ms Luke gained media attention after tattooing her eyeballs with blue ink, which nearly caused her to go blind.

The body-art model has spent more than $45,000 pursuing her passion, which she says began when she was 16.

In addition, she has had multiple piercings, had pointed implants added to her ears and her teeth filed into fangs.

Ms Luke has been open about her mental health struggles, noting how her body-art passion has helped her manage some of her issues.
