Slap Her video looks at children’s reactions when asked to hit a girl
THE beautiful social experiment video that has young boys teaching men about violence against women.
VIOLENCE against women has been the subject of many ad campaigns, social experiments and articles but none have had the same impact as viral video Slap Her.
The video, created by an Italian news organisation Fanpage.it puts young boys aged between 7 and 11-years-old and asks them to slap a young girl named Martina they have just been introduced to on camera.
The boys are asked to “slap her hard” by off screen interviewer credited as Luca Iavarone.
The boys’ reactions are both beautiful and inspiring.
Looking confused, scared, and angry the boys all refuse to slap the girl and when asked why the answers will bring tears to your eyes.
One boy answers “I don’t want to hurt her” while another answers in what is the true meaning of the video — “Why? ‘Cause I’m a man”.
