Selena Gomez has outposed, outpouted and outperformed even the biggest of celebrities, namely rivals Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, to take out the top gong of all Instagram users in the world.

More than seven million Australians use the photo sharing app, which says people use the platform to “connect with the global community”.

But Gomez, whose celebrity is yet to reach peak heights Down Under, has stolen the limelight in the Top 10, with eight posts in the most popular. Seven of her videos also make the Top 10 clip list.

Meanwhile, in Australia, health and fitness “influencer” Tammy Hembrow won the Top 3 locally.

While the Top 10 was dominated by females, two men were still among them: Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 82.3 million followers, and Dwayne Johnson, with 71 million followers.

Following Gomez is bestie Taylor Swift, with a whopping 93.6 million followers. No. 3 and No. 4 were Beyonce and Kylie Jenner, who have 88.9 million and 79.5 million followers each.
