Scottish independence: Jokes, memes and world reaction
SCOTLAND flirted with single status, but decided to stay ‘married’ to England. Here is some of the best internet reaction.
IT WAS the vote the world had been waiting for.
Millions took to the polls overnight in the historic referendum to decide if Scotland should become an independent country.
Votes are now being counted from the more than 2600 polling places across the country.
And social media is already giving its verdict on the state of play.
For Scotland, the “No” vote will no doubt end Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond’s dream of cutting his country’s 307-year union with the rest of Britain.
It’s enough to leave patriotic Scots everywhere feeling disappointed.
And while there will be some very unhappy Scots following the vote, at least they have the internet to make light of the result.
