‘Unprecedented demand’ leads to technical difficulties with Game of Thrones premiere
“UNPRECEDENTED demand” and technical difficulties stopped some frustrated viewers from watching the Game of Thrones premiere.
WINTER finally arrived for Game of Thrones fans as the greatly-anticipated season 7 premiered yesterday.
But it didn’t arrive for everyone, it seems.
Foxtel NOW was the cheapest way for fans to legally watch the latest season, without the need for a 12-month Foxtel contract.
The $15 per month ‘pop pack’ service promised to stream every episode at 11am, with an encore playing at 8:30pm.
But the service experienced problems due to “unprecedented demand”, frustrating viewers attempting to watch the show.

Foxtel has released a statement responding to the backlash.
“We are devastated that due to unprecedented demand, we are experiencing problems with our online services this evening,” it said.
“We can assure you that we are doing everything we can to resolve these problems.”
We're so sorry we're currently experiencing technical issues with our services, for more info please click here: https://t.co/LWz1ogJ1r6

The company assured customers they would be able to watch the Game of Thrones episode using the On-Demand features of their service as soon as the issue was resolved.
