A Brit backpacker has been found by Thai police after telling her mum people were “following and trying to hurt her” and disappearing for days have emerged.

Grace Taylor is being looked after until her by the Krabi Tourist Rescue centre until her family arrives from Bangkok, The Sun reports.

Interpol launched a huge search after Grace Taylor, of Swanage in the UK, went missing while travelling around the backpacker’s paradise six days ago.

Her parents flew out to Thailand after officially reporting her as a missing person to Dorset Police on Sunday morning as they’d not heard from her since Tuesday.

Grace was found at Krabi International Airport by officers and detained for her own safety, according to local media.

Staff have said she was “feeling sick” but no crime has been committed following her discovery at the airport.

Grace was reportedly detained after refusing to speak to officers, trying to walk away and blowing a whistle when they approached her.

Mum Sam Taylor previously voiced concerns on Facebook: “STILL MISSING. Grace contacted us from Ao Nang, she was very stressed and frightened saying that people were trying to hurt her and were following her and she wanted to come home.”

Our daughter Grace Taylor has not made contact with her family since Tuesday 16th February from her hostel in Pattaya,...

Sam previously explained after the concerning phone call: “We calmed her down and booked her a flight from Krabi but she never arrived at the airport by taxi and has gone missing again.”

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jetsada Chanpoom said: “Tourist police officers and immigration officials have found Grace Taylor at Krabi airport.

“She has spoken to embassy officials and we expect she will be leaving Thailand. She is feeling sick but we do not believe there was any crime involved.”

Mum Sam added before the news Grace was found: “We are desperately worried, all previous backpacker sightings have reported she is disorientated and not in a good mental state.”

It comes after Brit backpacker Jordan Jacobs was found wandering along a Thai beach in December, five days after phoning his family to say “sorry he couldn’t see them one last time” and a “man wouldn’t let him leave”.
