Mick Fleetwood recreates Fleetwood Mac ‘Dreams’ viral TikTok video

It’s been several decades since Fleetwood Mac released Dreams, but a viral video has given new life to the hit song.

Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green dies aged 73

A viral video of man skateboarding down the road while drinking cranberry juice has breathed new life into a 43-year-old song, and now one of the band’s members has put their own spin on the video.

Nathan Apodaca, who goes by the handle @420doggface208 on TikTok, uploaded a video in late September of himself skateboarding along, chugging a bottle of cran-raspberry juice while lipsyncing the Fleetwood Mac song Dreams with seemingly no care in the world.

The video’s calming simplicity helped make it a hit on the app, where it’s been viewed more than 21 million times.

Fleetwood Mac loved the video, which led to a dramatic increase in streams for the song.

Rolling Stone reported streams of the track almost tripled from 49,000 a day to 105,000 a day three days after the video was posted.

Now Fleetwood Mac’s drummer Mick Fleetwood has gotten in on the action himself, joining TikTok to share his own recreation on Monday morning.

It’s unclear if Mick is actually on a skateboard in the video, which looks to instead take advantage of TikTok’s advanced green-screen capabilities to make it appear as if the 73-year-old is moving (though he’s only shown from the waist up).

A big draw of TikTok is the ability to take audio from one video and use it in another, allowing for duets and remakes of popular or original songs.

This is the reason music is enough of a focus for the viral video app to have its own music director and has helped make number one hits out of tracks from relatively unknown artists like Lil Nas X and Roddy Rich.
