Man’s ridiculous Bunnings car park act goes viral
A TikTok user’s video of a customer’s ridiculous act in a Bunnings car park has gone viral.
A Bunnings customer has been caught on a viral video attempting to drive out of the carpark with a ridiculously oversized load of wood.
TikTok user @building_work_vibes posted the clip on Monday, where it has now been viewed more than 1.7 million times.
The white Holden sedan has several large wooden planks sticking out the rear driver side window, double the width of the vehicle.
“Check this fella out boys, thinks he can drive around like this,” the man filming says in disbelief. “Brother, what are you doing?”
In a second clip, the white Holden attempts to drive past his car.
“Nah mate,” the man filming says.
“Nah brother. You gotta pull over mate. You gotta pull over. Bro. You can’t drive like that brother.”
The driver opens his car door, and asks, “[Is it] OK?”
“No,” he replies. “You gotta go back. You gotta take it off.”
It’s understood the incident occurred at the Bunnings Takanini store in New Zealand, and that the customer loaded the vehicle themselves and was alerted to the potential safety hazard by a staff member.
The staff member attempted to find the customer after he left the store to support him with the load, but was unable to locate him.
“The safety of our team and customers is our number one priority, and we have extensive training and guidelines in place to make sure everyone leaves our stores safely,” said Bunnings New Zealand area manager Luke Foxley.
“Our team do their best to work with customers to make sure that loads are safe before they leave our stores.
“This includes materials handling training and resources for team, as well as assisting customers to split loads to make sure that they are a safe weight and safely secured, without excessive overhang.”
