The incident showed an agitated man directing a barrage of abuse towards a staff member who he claimed had shouted at his wife.

The video footage, shared on social media site TikTok, showed a man, donning a half yellow jumper and a blue beanie, approaching the staff member stationed at the tool shop counter within the warehouse.

He accused the Bunnings staff member at the Broadmeadows store, in Melbourne’s north, of mistreating his wife and proceeded to forcefully knock items off the counter while hurling derogatory insults in Arabic.

Launching into a tirade, the man questioned the staff member‘s behaviour towards his spouse.

“Why you yelling at my wife?” the man could be heard yelling.

“F*** you, f*** your sister the sl**,” he said.

Sensing the escalating situation, another Bunnings employee intervened and urged the customer to leave the premises.

“Don’t f***ing yell, motherf***er,” the man responded.

Throughout the incident, the shocked Bunnings worker maintained a non-confrontational stance, opting not to engage with the irate customer.

The man continued his verbal onslaught, punctuated with expletives, before a fellow customer stepped in to defuse the tension.

Eventually, the man struck the tool shop counter with his hand and departed from the scene, bringing the video recording to an end.

According to his account, the Bunnings staff member had been berating his wife, prompting his intervention.

He said that the customers present defended his wife and subsequently alerted him to the situation.

“He was shouting at my wife for no reason and the customers they protect my wife and call me,” he wrote.

The user received support from fellow TikTokers, with one saying: “We protect our woman no matter what.”

Bunnings General Manager of Operations Matt Tyler said the company was aware of the incident.

“We are aware of an incident that recently took place at our Broadmeadows store,” Mr Tyler said via the Daily Mail.

“There’s nothing more important to us than the safety and wellbeing of our team and customers.

“It’s not OK for anyone to experience abuse in our stores and we will always take steps to protect our team from disrespectful behaviour.”
