Kanye West’s bizarre Instagram posts about Elon Musk after Twitter ban

Kanye West has returned to Instagram to make some bizarre comments about Elon Musk after he booted the rapper from Twitter.

Elon Musk and Kanye West have continued a bizarre back-and-forth on Monday following Musk’s decision to ban the rapper from Twitter.

West, who has legally changed him name to Ye, made a return to Instagram to ask his followers whether they thought Musk, the world’s richest man, was Chinese.

“Have you ever seen his pics as a child?” he wrote.

“Take a Chinese genius and mate them with a South African super model. And we have an Elon. I say an Elon because they probably made 10 to 30 Elon’s and he’s the first genetic hybrid that stuck … well let’s not forget about Obama.

“I’m sorry for using curse words in church but I don’t have another word for Obama yet. Ye24 Let’s unify and found out. LUAFO”

In his caption, Ye referred to himself as the “future president of the United States”.

Responding to a Twitter account that shared Ye’s claim that Musk was a “half-Chinese genetic hybrid,” Musk said: “I take that as a compliment”.

Ye then posted a screenshot of the exchange on his Instagram, adding: “It was meant as a compliment my friend. Now Obama on the other hand …”

Ye’s bizarre Instagram posts come after he tweeted an image of a swastika blended with a Star of David last week.

The 45-year-old was suspended from Twitter for violating the company’s rule against “incitement to violence”, Musk said.

The same day he had praised Adolf Hitler and unleashed an anti-Semitic diatribe while wearing a black hood that covered his face and head during an online appearance with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

Ye’s Twitter account was suspended in early October for anti-Semitic tweets, but was reinstated by the end of the month.

Sportswear giant Adidas also cut ties with Ye, ending production of Yeezy branded products.

Celebrities and public figures have slammed Ye for his anti-Semitic comments.

US President Joe Biden appeared to address Ye’s comments without naming him in a tweet on Friday, local time.

“I just want to make a few things clear: The Holocaust happened. Hitler was a demonic figure. And instead of giving it a platform, our political leaders should be calling out and rejecting antisemitism wherever it hides. Silence is complicity,” he wrote.

Musk is a self-described “free speech absolutist” and has been determined to reduce content moderation on Twitter since his $US44 billion ($A66 billion) takeover, which he spent months trying to wriggle out of.

Just over a week ago he announced a “general amnesty” for suspended accounts, which means some of the most controversial right-wing figures will return to Twitter.

The most famous person to have their ban reversed was Donald Trump, but the former US president said he had no interest in returning to Twitter anyway.

Musk also scrapped the Covid misleading information policy, which involved Twitter removing or annotating “potentially harmful and misleading information” about Covid.

But Musk decided Ye went too far.

Ye began posting on Truth Social, the social media platform started by Trump, after his ban and shared a text message purportedly from Musk, which said: “Sorry, but you have gone too far. This is not love.”
