IF Julie Bishop has been losing sleep over the deposing of former prime minister Tony Abbott, at least she’s using her late waking hours to entertain.

The freshly reinstated deputy Liberal leader tweeted more than 100 times in the space of about three hours — finishing up about 2.40am — and she used a lot of emojis.

If you were up late enough and wanted a follow and shout out from @JulieBishopMP, all you had to do was ask, and speaking her language helped as well.

Some were a little puzzled as to why she was randomly tweeting (apparently she was “just having fun”) and whether her account had been hacked, to which she replied “most certainly not! (or have I??)

It seems the social media savvy foreign minister backflipped on the late-night blocking spree she went on some months ago, when #blockedbybishop started trending.

She was certainly far more gracious this time, sparking an “emoji-nal” follow-fest while keeping her emoji game strong.

The tweets appeared to have been sparked after one Twitter user expressed his jealousy at Ms Bishop’s shout out to another.

“Not only does Queen Emoji follow you she gave you a shout out. I can only dream of such greatness,” he tweeted.

Bishop didn’t miss a beat flagging her follow at around 11pm, and continued to bestow the same honour on whoever asked until about 2.40 this morning.

Also on her late night tweet-a-thon, the Western Australian MP conceded she was disappointed to have missed watching The Bachelor finale as she was flying to her home state.

At least she had her colleague NSW Premier Mike Baird’s tweets to help her catch up.
