Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg says they’ll add a “dislike” button to its social network

AFTER years of refusing to create one, Facebook is finally giving users another way to express themselves.
During a Q & A session, CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed he’s been working on a function that will give us an alternative to the ‘like’ function.
“We’ve finally heard you and we’re working on this and we will deliver something that meets the needs of the larger community,” he said during the session.
“People have asked about the ‘dislike’ button for many years, and probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it.” he added.
But according to a News Corp poll, not everyone is keen on the function.
It seems some are sceptical with almost 40 percent of people saying they don’t like the idea. Almost 600 people voted in the poll.
Facebook has been reluctant in the past in building a “dislike” button over fears it would invite widespread negativity in the online world.
“Not every moment is a good moment. If you share something that’s sad like a refugee crisis that touches you or a family member passes away, it may not be comfortable to like that post … I do think it’s important to give people more options than liking it,” Zuckerberg said.
No date has been announced for its trial or official launch.
