WE ALL know the dangers of drink-driving, but using your phone while drunk can be just as injurious — to your social life.

Fear not, because there are a range of apps available that can protect you from an unwise phone call, text, Facebook post or tweet.

Android users can now download the app Drunk Locker, which is designed to prevent you from creating social faux pas by blocking your social media when you are partying.

The app allows you to avoid the morning-after regret by blocking Facebook, Messenger, SnapChat, Instagram, Tumblr and Twitter for a time of your choosing.

So, if you’re planning a night out, you can lock yourself out of apps on your phone for up to 10 hours.

But beware. If you choose to set the lock, you can’t change your mind a few hours in. If you’ve set the blocker for five hours, you will be out in the social media cold for five hours.

“We want to protect you so that you do not make a mistake that will affect you for the rest of your life,” the site’s website reads.

“We know that social media runs the world and we want to protect your reputation.”

The app has been well reviewed on Google Play, scoring an average of 4.8 stars out of 5.

For iPhone owners, there’s Social Lock which, once activated, asks you to perform a test of your motor skills before giving you access to your social media accounts.

If your fingers fumble, you will fail the sobriety test and be blocked from your social apps.

There is also a host of “drunk dial” apps, that will prevent you from calling or texting your contacts.

You’re welcome.
