A MAN who robbed a bank and posted the burglary on Instagram has claimed he is not a thief because of a note he wrote to the teller.
Dubbed “the world’s biggest dips**t”, Dominyk Antonio Alfonseca walked into a Townebank in Virginia Beach, Virginia, handed the note to a teller “asking” for $US150,000 in bonds, filmed the robbery and posted it to Instagram.
“I need 150,000 bonds right now,” the note read.
“Police take three to four minutes to get here, I would appreciate if you ring the alarm a minute after I’m gone.
“Make sure the money doesn’t blow up on my way out”.
Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, police caught wind of the burglary and within 20 minutes, had located and arrested the suspect.
But it was just enough time for Alfonseca to post the timeline of the theft to his social media followers on Monday.
But in a strange twist, Alfonseca is pinning the blame on the bank teller, saying he simply “asked for the money” and she obliged.
“I don’t know how I’m a robber because I asked for it. She could have said no, and I could have left,” Alfonseca told WTKR from his cell.
“It was clutch time for her … and she had to make the shot. Shoot it, or not shoot it. It either goes in or it doesn’t. She could’ve said ‘no,’ and I could have left.”
He claims he was deliberately polite, pointing to the word “please” in the note, and if he was serious about robbing a bank, he would have used a mask.
“I’m basically asking permission for money” in the video, he told the Virginian Pilot. “In my eyes, I did not commit a robbery, and I feel I’m being charged without reason.”
He claims he decided to film the robbery in action as a safeguard, in order to protect himself from officials who might have said he was armed.
In an even odder twist, he asked the news channel to give shouts to Michelle Obama, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
Funnily enough, no word yet from the celebrities in question.
Alfonseca is in custody at the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office and will face court in June 12.
Perhaps the stint in jail might give hima moment to reflect on appropriate posting.
Ain’t nobody got time for this ...
