Dogspotting is how people are now lighting up their newsfeeds

IT’S called “dogspotting”, it involves posting pictures of pooches for points, and is the group everyone wants to join on Facebook. What’s all this about?

IT’S the hottest group you can join right now on Facebook - and it’s an absurd craze called Dogspotting.

The Dogspotting game sees players assigned completely arbitrary points based on photos of dogs taken and posted in the Dogspotting group.

This picture explains the basic points system.

These points are rarely used anymore.

But those points are only really given to the boring dogs posted. It gets much better when members create their own reasons for awarding points.

Here’s are two classic examples:

”I TOLD you we should have stopped and asked for directions”

+ 3 for even tan.

There are some rules though, and they are monitored closely. The first is that the dog can’t be a known dog eg a poster’s own pet, while the second most important rule to consider is that if the dog spots you, the dog gets all the points.

Points lost for both eye contact and known dog.

Another less popular, but still interesting, game gaining traction on Facebook is called “Generic Office Roleplay”. GOR is basically just a group where people pretend to be employees in a fake office and send brilliant emails to each other via the groups wall.

I’ve tried both of these games, they are both equally stupid and fantastic.
