Dashcam footage shows semi-truck narrowly miss Ohio state trooper
DASHCAM footage has shown just how close an Ohio state trooper came to death when a semi-truck crashed into his vehicle.
DASHCAM footage has emerged of an Ohio state highway trooper narrowly escaping a collision with a semi-truck.
When trooper Stephen Zientek pulled over to help a driver with a dead battery he got more than he had bargained for.
Zientek and the driver, Mike Celusta, were walking back to the trooper’s car when a semi-truck lost control and barrelled towards them.
The dashcam footage shows the quick thinking trooper warn Celusta before jumping over the guardrail.
Seconds later, the runaway truck crashes into back of the patrol car, sending it slamming into the stranded vehicle.
The driver has since come forward praising the trooper for his actions.
“It was just Hollywood-type script and now that I can see it, it makes it even more surreal,” he told New York Daily News.
“It feels like that could’ve been me being smashed.”
The driver of the semi-truck has been cited for not slowing down while passing a vehicle with flashing lights on the side of the road.
The video was originally released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
