ANOTHER movie on the life of Steve Jobs has been announced, with actor Christian Bale confirmed to star as the Apple founder himself.

The film’s screenwriter Aaron Sorkin told Bloomberg that when casting the role they “needed the best actor on board in a certain age range and that’s Christian Bale.”

The film itself will be based on Walter Isaacons’s 2011 biography of Jobs, with the team in charge having previously worked on movies like The Social Network and Slumdog Millionare.

Leonardo DiCaprio was in earlier talks to play Jobs, but the writers eventually realised that Bale was the Steve Jobs audiences need. Obviously, everyone in Hollywood is trying hard to forget Ashton Kutcher’s terrible turn as Jobs in the self-titled flop of 2013.

Conan O’Brien managed to get early footage of the film, which shows the movie taking a grittier angle. The film tells the untold story of Jobs’ crusade throughout an entire city to achieve his goals at Apple, often working under the banner that “rules don’t apply to him”.

The clip also reveals the real reason behind the naming of Apple, with Bale’s Jobs explaining the company received its name because apples frighten him.

Filming for the actual Steve Jobs movie will begin in the next few months, with no expected release date announced.
