Check your Instagram now — the Following tab that lets you see everything pals do may be gone
The “following” tab let users stalk the activity of other accounts, but it could be disappearing forever.
Instagram is quietly deleting the Following tab for some users around the world.
The tab is famously used for “stalking” pals — letting you see the likes, comments and activity of people you follow.
It can let you see what your favourite celebs are doing — or expose the dodgy antics of a cheating partner.
But since early August, users have been complaining that the tab has disappeared.
For affected users, the Activity page only shows your own notifications.
Instagram confirmed that this was part of a test, but didn’t say why.

The first apparent report online is from a Reddit thread posted on August 9 this year.
A number of users complained that the tab had disappeared, and that no public announcement had been made.
Since then, the number of users moaning about the tab’s removal has grown.
One Twitter user wrote: “Honestly gonna delete my Instagram and make a new one cause why tf don’t I have a Following tab on my Activity & everyone else does.”
Another said: “I cannot see the Following tab on the activity page for a while now. I’ve reported the issue on the app multiple times with no luck.”
But some users supported the move.

“Instagram should really remove the Following tab. It really hurts when someone close is ignoring you but they are busy liking and following other people,” said one user.
And another moaned: “The Following notifications tab on Instagram is psychotic. Does anyone look at the Following tab? Psycho if so.”
In other news, Instagram has been totally redesigned with a “Dark Mode” that is only available for some users.
A new Instagram app lets you make your own 3D face filters.
And WhatsApp and Instagram were recently forced to change their names by Facebook — after the firm was criticised over its “social media monopoly”.
