Burn ISIS Flag Challenge goes viral as angry Muslims fight back
ANGRY Muslims have nominated the whole world to take on the Burn ISIS Flag Challenge, in retaliation of the terror group’s extreme views.
ANGRY Muslims have created their own version of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to retaliate against extremist terrorist group IS.
Islamic people from around the world have begun burning the flag of the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, and sharing their protest online, in order to spread the message that the terror group does not represent their beliefs.
Three Lebanese teenagers sparked an online sensation when they burned the flag of the Islamic State in a pubic square in Beirut last month.

Their incendiary actions have sparked the Burn ISIS Flag Challenge, shared online via the #BurnISISFlagChallenge and #BURNISIS hashtags, with Muslims taking a flame to the terror group’s banner.
The teenagers’ actions were sparked by IS beheading a Lebanese sergeant and the capture of more than 30 Lebanese soldiers and police.

One protester signed off his YouTube video by saying, “I nominate the whole world to the #BurnISISFlagChallenge. You have 24 hours. GO!! Note: ISIS are not ISLAM nor do they represent ISLAM and Muslims”.
But some have criticised the movement.
Lebanon’s justice minister, Ashraf Rifi, condemned the teenagers who burnt the flag and called for the “sternest punishments” for those who perpetuated the movement, newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported.
He took objection to the movement because the IS flag bears the Islamic declaration of faith, the Shahada, which means, essentially, that “There is no god but Allah”.
The phrase, Rifi said, “has nothing to do with ISIS and its terrorist approach” and burning it constituted an insult to all people of Muslim faith.
admire the sentiment, but is #BurnIsisFlagChallenge the most self-defeating campaign ever? playing into #IS hands by burning shehada?

#BurnISISFlagChallenge: By burning Shahadah do you want to offend 2 billion Muslims or a few thousand fighters in Iraq/Syria?

Others have chosen to burn flags that say “There is no god of terrorism” instead to avoid desecrating the Islamic holy symbol.
IS flags are actually hard to come by, so a majority of the those taking on the challenge are printing out the flag on paper and burning it symbolically.
