British DJ Orlando Higginbottom called ‘****ing boring’ in awkward viral interview notes

DON’T leave your interview notes behind, kids. An Aussie journo learnt his lesson the hard way after he was caught out describing a DJ as ‘****ing’ boring’.

INTERVIEW subjects usually have to wait until their article is published to find out what a journalist thinks of them, but British DJ Orlando Higginbottom got a sneak preview when his interviewer made a rookie error.

An anonymous, and probably very embarrassed journalist, left behind his interviewing notes after speaking to the artist known as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs at his Melbourne show, describing him as “****ing boring”.

“He’s English. Loves soccer and a living a healthy lifestyle,” the notes, presumably written by a jaded editor who has had a previous encounter with Higginbottom, read.

“He’s f***ing boring to interview (or the questions sucked), so you’re going to have to be real creative with the questions.”

The briefing also included tips on how to deal with the 28-year-old electro artist, warning “he doesn’t give much eye contact at all, so don’t be put off”.

Despite being given such a dull description, it turns out Higginbottom does have a sense of humour, posting the notes on Facebook and Instagram over the weekend and describing the incident as “one of the funniest things ever to happen to me on tour”.

“FYI it’s all true,” he said.

The DJ saw the funny side of his unflattering notes.

The note has gone viral, attracting thousands of likes, and hundreds of comments, many of them just as unflattering towards the journo as the original points were about his subject.

As if the journo wouldn’t already be embarrassed enough, his interview questions have been deemed just as boring.

“’He’s f***ing boring to interview’ they say as they proceed to come up with the most hideously boring questions known to man,” Chris Allen wrote on Facebook.

“I particularly enjoyed ‘you’re going to have to be creative with the questions’, and then wonder why you’re bored when they’re asking stock dullard bollocks like ‘what do you love about touring in Australia?’,” said Ben Woodman.
