Aussie uses Lego to tell the news
A CREATIVE Aussie has taken to telling the news with Lego, reporting some of the biggest stories of the year in the cutest way possible.
AN enterprising Aussie who uses Lego to tell the news is building an impressive following.
Each day, an illusive tax lawyer from Melbourne — identified only as Sean — recreates the news using the colourful building blocks and other toys, then blasts out photos of his creations to his 2000 Instagram followers and on his website.
“Many of us want to read the news, but we just don’t have the time,” Sean writes on his site, The Short News.
“In just a few short minutes, you can catch up with interesting news snippets from around the world in a fun and lighthearted manner.”
The Short News tackles world events, politics, sport and entertainment, with everyone from pop brat Justin Bieber to Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott having received a Lego makeover.
Some of the more popular posts include reimaginings of Ellen DeGeneres’ famed Oscars selfie, Mr Abbott’s threat to “shirt-front” Russian President Vladimir Putin and a particularly cute take on North Korea’s suspected Sony hacks.
Sean, who only started publishing in June, says his work is driven by a simple passion: “empowering people with knowledge in a way that everyone can relate to.
“I have always wanted to make the news fun and accessible. I believe the Short News does exactly that.”
News Corp Australia contacted Sean for this story but he did not respond by publication time.
