AN ALLEGED drunk driver in China faces jail time after he was filmed standing on the roof of his moving car as it drove down the street.

Footage posted online shows the bizarre moment he proudly stood on top of the vehicle in Bengbu City, in China’s Anhui province.

The man can be seen standing upright on the roof of the vehicle with his hands on his hips as the car moves slowly down the street and other cars pass him by. At one point he appears to reach down through the sunroof with his feet to correct the steering wheel.

According to reports, the man is suspected of being intoxicated at the time — and let’s be honest, very little else could explain the curious behaviour.

Driverless cars are not regulated in China, so while this guy found a way to make his own version, it didn’t end well for him.

When police approached the vehicle, he jumped back inside and tried to flee but perhaps unsurprisingly, he didn’t get far.
