An adoring mum has become an internet sensation after yelling out to her journalist son while he prepared to deliver an on-camera news report.

In a clip of the heartwarming moment, captured in the US state of Ohio, the ecstatic mum, Sandi, called out to her son Myles Harris, a reporter for ABC 6.

Harris was about to deliver his piece to camera but stopped when he recognised an approaching car.

“That’s my mum, hold on,” he told his camera operator DeAngelo Byrd.

She was then heard shouting, “Hi baby!” from the car as she pulled up alongside the crew.

A flustered Harris introduced her to Byrd while gently informing her he was in the middle of something.

“I’m trying to work right now, you’re calling my phone. This is DeAngelo, you can say hi,” he said.

The enthusiastic woman called out, “Hi DeAngelo!” before being ushered along by Harris.

“And don’t be holding up traffic because you got cars behind you,” he told her.

She agreed, saying “alright”, before blowing a kiss and driving away.

Harris was surprised the candid moment had been captured, asking Byrd, “Did you record that?”.

It wasn’t long before the sweet exchange attracted viral attention online, and has now been viewed thousands of times and received hundreds of likes and replies on Twitter.

“Oh, she’s so very proud of you! This makes my day – and I bet it made hers too,” one reply read.

“I’ve watched this like six times. The expression and body language, mum’s voice, [and] the crew laughing,” another wrote.

“I love your mum. Brought a big smile to my day,” a third said.
