Abbott government’s metadata laws pass Parliament

AUSTRALIANS will have two years of their metadata stored by phone providers after the government’s controversial data retention laws passed Parliament.

The Abbott Government’s controversial metadata laws have passed Parliament.

Last week the House of Representatives passed the controversial laws which would require telecommunications companies to keep metadata, which includes details of phone calls and text messages, for two years.
